Scholarship guidelines

The following rules and guidelines were developed & adopted with the main intent being of maximizing our chances of achieving our overall objective, which is Grow Worth County.

  1. Graduating students must apply for the scholarship in their senior year.
  2. Only those students who live with their parents or a legally approved guardian within the geographical borders of Worth County for their junior and senior years will be eligible to receive a scholarship.
  3. This will be a one-time scholarship paid directly to the college, trade school or institution of higher learning. If the student does not complete their education, the remaining balance of the scholarship will be returned to the WCDA Scholarship Fund.
  4. Students will be allowed a maximum of four years to use the scholarship, if not used the balance will be returned to the WCDA Scholarship Fund.
  5. The amount of the scholarships will be contingent upon the amount of the adjusted gross revenue of the casino from January 1 to December 31 and the number of graduating students who reside in Worth County.
  6. Students that attend schools outside of Worth County but satisfy requirement (2) are eligible for the scholarship.
  7. Students that attend schools inside of Worth County but do not satisfy requirement (2) are not eligible for the scholarship.
  8. Applications must be in the WCDA office by April 15 or the student will not be eligible.
  9. The above rules and guidelines are subject to change and revision by the WCDA Board as deemed appropriate in once again trying to achieve our overall goal of Grow Worth County.
